Electricity is available in the electric loop, but water is only available at the Non-Electric Comfort Station (restroom/showerhouse). Campground Reservations

Reservations for the Clifty Falls State Park campgrounds can be made up to 6 months in advance (beginning at 12 noon on that day).

Call 1-866-6CAMP-IN (1-866-622-6746)
(Call Center is open Monday-Friday 12pm to 8pm EST, and Saturday-Sunday 12pm to 5pm EST.)

OR

NOTE:  A non-refundable transaction fee of $5 is charged for each new advance reservation made online or by phone.

All campsites are now reservable, so reservations are recommended. Campsites not reserved are available on a “first-come first-served” basis, but you cannot count on their availability, especially during the summer.

One night on weekdays (Monday-Thursday). Two nights on weekends (Friday night stay must include Thursday or Saturday, Saturday night stay must include Friday or Sunday).

Exceptions:

  • One-Night Relaxed Rule: If a campsite is not rented within 3 days of arrival, it will be available for a one night rental through the call center and online. Required holiday minimum stays are excluded from this relaxed rule!
  • If 7 nights or more are reserved, there is no restriction on the weekend stay but the reservation cannot exceed the 14-night maximum rule
  • Holiday weekends require the 3-night holiday minimum stays (see holiday minimum stays)
  • Gap Rule: If two reservations create a gap that allows a Friday or Saturday to be available for a one night rental by itself, a customer will be able to reserve that one night by itself.  On a holiday weekend, if 2 of the 3 required nights are available due to a gap between reservations, both of those nights have to be booked.  No one-night gap stays on holiday weekends.

Note: Youth Tent Areas require a one night minimum stay, seven days a week, including holidays and weekends.

On holiday weekends campers are required to reserve three nights. For all major holidays within the reservation season, if the holiday is on a Friday the required stay will be Thursday through Saturday. If the holiday falls on a Monday the required minimum stay will be Friday through Sunday. If the holiday falls on a weekday it will just be a regular one night minimum stay.

Maximum length of stay is 14 consecutive nights. After 14 nights the campers must vacate the property for 48 hours before they can re-register for an additional stay.

A “no show” is processed when a customer does not show up for their reservation at all, and does not cancel the reservation either. A reservation will not be processed as a “no show” until the very last day of a reservation (the intended date of departure) and no sooner. The customer’s site is not given away. Only the park processes no shows, not the call center or the web.

NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER.

  • If a reservation is cancelled 8 or more days prior to arrival, a flat $10 cancellation fee will be charged (per reservation that is cancelled.)
  • If a reservation is cancelled between 1 and 7 days prior to arrival, the first night’s rental fee plus tax will be charged as a cancellation fee (per reservation that is cancelled.)
  • If a reservation is cancelled on or after the day of arrival, the customer will forfeit their entire rental fee.
  • If a customer disputes the cancellation fee
    • Where applicable, the “no hassle” policy may come into play, per the direction of the CRS vendor’s Customer Service Director
    • All other disputes should be directed to the IDNR Project Manager through the CRS vendor’s Customer Service Supervisor.
      • The preferred method of contact is detailed email to the IDNR Project Manager.
      • The agent should tell the customer he/she will receive a call back from Senior Management at DNR.
  • Cancellations may be done through the call center or on the web up until one day prior to arrival.
  • Cancellations on or after the day of arrival will be processed by the property and/or the IDNR Project Manager.
  • Partial cancellations are not allowed.  The entire reservation must be cancelled.
  • NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
  • If a reservation is cancelled one (1) or more days prior to arrival, a flat $10 cancellation fee will be charged per reservation that is cancelled.
  • If a reservation is cancelled on or after the day of arrival, the customer will forfeit their entire rental fee.
  • If a customer disputes the cancellation fee
    • Where applicable, the “no hassle” policy may come into play, per the direction of the CRS vendor’s Customer Service Director

The park does not give refunds for unused days. Only the reservation holder can cancel or make a change to an existing reservation. “Change Reservation” (transfers) can now be done on the web, and not just through the reservation phone line.

  • The transfer or change fee is $5 for each transaction.
  • If a customer disputes the transfer / change fee
    • Where applicable, the “no hassle” policy may come into play, per the direction of the CRS vendor’s Customer Service Director
    • All other disputes should be directed to the IDNR Project Manager through a CRS vendor’s Customer Service Supervisor.

      • NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
  • A transfer or change from one site and/or date to another will be allowed up until the reservation phone line’s close of business the day before arrival, or up to 11:59pm on the web the day before arrival.
  • Transfers to another date cannot be made on or after the day of arrival. A customer must cancel and re-book.
  • Upon arrival, a customer may do one free campsite change (at the property only).
  • Transfers can be done through the reservation phone line and on the web.  The only limitation with transfers on the web is the inability to change from one park to another in the transfer process.  “Change Reservation” on the web is also known as the transfer button.
  • Prior to the arrival date, a transfer can be made to any property and does not have to be within the same calendar year, but is dependent upon available inventory and booking windows.
  • Transfers to another person are not allowed.
  • If the transfer facility is a different rate, the appropriate refund or charge will be assessed to the customer.
  • No fee will be assessed to change the primary occupant name but the reservation holder’s name cannot change without cancelling and re-booking under a new name.
  • NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER

Campground Rules

Please be considerate and follow these rules to ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable camping experience.

CHECK IN/OUT TIMES

Check-in and check-out time is 2 pm Monday through Saturday and 5 pm on Sundays and designated holidays. If you plan to renew your registration, please do so by 10 am.

PETS

Many family pets do not seem to enjoy the camping experience nearly as much as their humans. The unfamiliarity and confusion of a busy campground and being constantly on a leash seem to upset some animals. Excessive noise and not cleaning up after pets leads to many complaints from other campers. Campers are responsible for their pets at all times. Do not leave them unattended. Pets must be on a leash 6 feet or less, in length.

TABLES

Each site is outfitted with one picnic table. Borrowing tables from other sites is not allowed and creates discord when they must be retrieved for the site from which they were taken.

VEHICLES

Reducing congestion and visitor safety are the reasons for the “one mode of transportation per site” rule. Additional vehicles must be parked in designated campground parking lots.

NUMBER OF PEOPLE/TENTS PER SITE

Six people is the maximum number allowed at a campsite. Each site may have two tents or one camper and one small tent.

ALCOHOL

Alcohol is strictly forbidden in the youth camps. At other properties, both daily visitors and campers are asked to be responsible when drinking alcohol. Possession of alcohol by persons under the age of 21 is against the law in Indiana, and this will be enforced.

QUIET HOURS

Quiet hours are from 11 pm until 6 am. At night, voices carry so moderation is essential. Generators or other similar equipment that produce noise may only be in operation from 6 am until 11 pm.

NAILS AND WIRES

Nails and wires for suspending lanterns and patio lights can cause serious damage to trees. Burn damage permanently scars or kills trees.

FIRES AND FIREWOOD

Fires may be built only in the fire rings provided. Collecting firewood in state parks is prohibited. Firewood is for sale at the park concession or campground store.

VISITORS TO YOUR SITE

Day visitors are welcome. They must park in the campground parking lot and may walk to your campsite. Campground hours are 7 am until 11 pm each day.

AGE OF CAMPERS

At least one person at the campsite must be 18 years old. The responsible party registering for the campsite shall remain at the site for the entire stay.

SETUP OF CAMPSITE

May begin after check out time on the first day, and the site must be clear by check out on the last day, except Sunday or Monday of a holiday weekend, when you may stay until 5 pm. Campgrounds are closed at 11 pm, and no set-up of campsites may occur after midnight.

RENEWING CAMPSITES

Campers are requested to renew sites by 10 am.
